The fund has a European focus with a global mandate and partners with top quantum scientists and industry veterans. Its mission is to invest in early-stage quantum innovations that deliver real commercial and societal impact, leveraging Denmark’s status as a burgeoning quantum hub. Owen’s leadership of the fund draws on his proven track record as former Managing Director of Merck’s $1B+ corporate venture fund (M Ventures) and over 20 years of experience in advanced technology R&D. He co-founded 55 North alongside Dr. Helmut Katzgraber (ex-AWS, ex-Microsoft) and Dr. Kai Hudek (ex-IonQ), creating a team that blends deep quantum expertise with seasoned venture investment skill.
