Biography

Dr. Lisa Matthews is the Chief Executive Officer of KETS Quantum Security, a leading UK deep-tech company developing chip-scale, quantum-safe communication technologies. As CEO, she leads KETS in its mission to deliver deployable quantum-secure solutions for telecommunications, defence, financial services, and critical national infrastructure. Dr. Matthews’ career spans leadership roles across venture finance, business incubation, and technology commercialisation. Prior to joining KETS, she served as an Investment Manager at Jenson Funding Partners, a UK early-stage venture capital firm. She also held the role of Incubation Manager at SETsquared Bristol, which was awarded 'Hottest Accelerator' at the Europas, where she led scale-up programmes and supported founders in securing investment, maturing operations, and accelerating market readiness. Alongside her executive responsibilities, Dr. Matthews contributes to industry working groups and initiatives focused on cyber resilience, photonics, and advanced technology adoption. She is recognised for her commitment to building inclusive, high-performance innovation ecosystems and advancing Europe’s competitiveness in deep-tech and quantum technologies. As a member of the Quantum Cannes Festival Honorary Committee, Dr. Matthews supports the festival’s mission to connect scientific excellence, industry, and global strategic leadership in the rapidly emerging quantum landscape.
