Biography

Dr. Kristan is a Research Staff Member and the manager of the Theory of Quantum Algorithms group at IBM's T.J. Watson Research Center. The research areas Krsitan is currently working on the most are quantum algorithms and noise in complex quantum systems. He has received a diploma in Physics from the University of Heidelberg in 2007. In 2011 Kristan completed a Ph.D in Physics at the University of Vienna. Between 2012 and 2014 he was a Erwin Schroedinger postdoctoral fellow at the Center for Theoretical Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Between March 2014 and September 2015 Dr. Kristan was a postdoc at the Institute for Quantum Information and Matter at the California Institute of Technology. He has joined IBM research in September 2015.
