Information

Biography
Nicolas Treps is a full professor at Sorbonne Université and is the director of Laboratoire Kastler Brossel (LKB). LKB is one of the major players in the field of quantum physics, covering a wide range of topics from fundamental tests of quantum physics to their applications. Nicolas Treps research interests are centered on quantum optics, both theoretical and experimental, and in particular the continuous variable approach and its applications to quantum technologies. He developed modal analysis of multimode quantum light, which lead to pioneering experiments on quantum metrology, quantum imaging and multimode quantum information. He co-founded the deep-tech company Cailabs in 2013, which shapes laser light to enable faster, safer, more reliable, and precise solutions, from industrial processes to data transmission, from Earth to space. He was at the origin of the Quantum Information Center Sorbonne and set up the Quantum Information master program of Sorbonne University, jointly between the physics and computer science departments.
