Biography

Dr. Rebekka Garreis works as a Scientific Officer and Project Manager for the Swiss Quantum Initiative (SQI), hosted by the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT) and mandated by the Swiss Confederation. In this role, she supports the Swiss Quantum Commission in shaping quantum strategy, coordinating research funding frameworks, innovation programs, specialist training, and international partnerships. She holds a PhD from ETH Zürich in Physics, where her doctoral research centered on electronic transport in graphene quantum dots, involving hands-on experience in nanofabrication and low-temperature measurements. She also gained industry perspective as a Quantum Engineer in Sydney with Silicon Quantum Computing before returning to Switzerland and taking up her current position.
