- Biography
- Dr. Sana Amairi-Pyka is a quantum physicist and expert in quantum communications and metrology for advanced space technologies. She serves as Lead Scientist for Quantum Communications at the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) in Abu Dhabi, where she leads the Abu Dhabi Quantum Optical Ground Station (ADQOGS), the first project of its kind in the MENA region focused on space-based quantum communications and secure optical networks. She holds a Ph.D. in Quantum Optical Metrology from the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Germany and a Certificate in Executive Leadership Development from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Recognized among the Quantum 100 in 2025 under UNESCO’s International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ 2025), she was also named by Junior Chamber International (JCI) as one of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) of the World under 40 for her impact in science and technology. Her career includes postdoctoral research related to ESA’s LISA mission at Humboldt University of Berlin, leadership roles at EPIC, Independent Expert for the European Commission, and multiple contributions to international research initiatives and women in STEM.
