Biography

Dr Scott Dufferwiel is the Co-Founder and CEO of Aegiq, a UK quantum technology company developing scalable photonic quantum computers. He holds a PhD in Quantum Optics from the University of Sheffield and has spent his career translating quantum research into commercial technologies. Since co-founding Aegiq, Scott has led the company's evolution into one of Europe's leading photonic quantum computing companies, securing strategic partnerships across industry and government, deploying its first-generation photonic quantum computer at the UK National Quantum Computing Centre, and leading the company's international growth and commercialisation strategy. Scott is a Chartered Physicist, a recipient of the Royal Academy of Engineering SME Leaders Programme, and a Founding Committee Member of the Institute of Physics' Quantum Business Innovation and Growth Group (qBIG), where he supports the growth of the UK's quantum ecosystem.
