Biography

Carina Lainer is Principal at Roland Berger, leading the firm’s quantum technologies, photonics, and optics business. As a physicist with a background in quantum optics and research experience at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), she brings deep technical expertise to be used in business strategy or M&A transactions among others. Carina advises clients across electronics, semiconductors, chemicals, aerospace, and defense. Her work includes launching and go to market for sensing products, next level of innovation for quantum computing hardware and supporting technologies, establishing a national quantum expert council, or supporting IPO preparations, and many more. She is also dedicated to empowering women in STEM, encouraging them to leverage their research backgrounds for leadership in business.
