Biography

Dr. Annika Zimmermann is Team Leader and Strategic Project Manager Quantum Computing Applications within the DLR Quantum Computing Initiative of the German Aerospace Center e.V. (DLR QCI). She is responsible for the strategy of the field quantum computing applications and for a portfolio of projects, where industry, start-ups and research work together to develop practically relevant quantum computing use-cases. Thereby, together with her team of project managers she is commissioning industry partners to develop quantum computing solutions in sectors including aeronautics, space and security, while fostering a strong ecosystem for the sovereign use of quantum computing in research, business and the public sector. Previously, Annika Zimmermann worked as an Executive Assistant to Group Management in a high-tech company and obtained her PhD in experimental quantum physics working on ultracold atoms at the University of Heidelberg.
