Information
- Biography
- Virginia D’Auria’s research focuses on quantum optics and quantum photonics. By harnessing the quantum properties of light, these fields have the potential to bring about a major paradigm shift in information processing and communication. Her research covers the two main approaches to encoding quantum information: discrete variables (the equivalent of digital encoding) and continuous variables (the equivalent of analog encoding), as well as their hybridization. Her recent work includes demonstrations of the generation and manipulation of high-dimensional entangled states on photonic chips, as well as Schrödinger cat states of light.
