Company Profile
*Université Côte d’Azur is one of France’s **nine “IdEx” universities**, renowned for their research intensity and strong international influence. Organized around innovative internal structures, the **Graduate Schools of Research**, whose responsibilities have been strengthened to enhance agility, Université Côte d’Azur builds on the **excellence of its research** to develop all its missions in education and innovation. Its strong roots in the **Côte d’Azur region** also make it a key driver of its development. As a founding member of the **Ulysseus European University Alliance**, Université Côte d’Azur also hosts an **Artificial Intelligence Cluster (3IA Côte d’Azur 2030)** and benefits from major partnerships with leading national and international research organizations.* ***Université Côte d’Azur, a key player in quantum technologies*** *Against this backdrop of scientific excellence and international openness, Université Côte d’Azur has established itself as a major player in quantum technologies in France and internationally. Its research covers all the major pillars of the field: **quantum computing, communication, simulation and sensing**. Its researchers have developed complementary expertise, ranging from fundamental research to technological applications, and have secured significant funding through, among others, **ERC grants, the Quantum Flagship, PEPR Quantique and ANR programmes**.* *The university is also at the heart of leading international collaborations, notably with **Majulab**, a Franco-Singaporean international research laboratory, and the **Canada-France Quantum Alliance (CAFQA)** network. It also plays a pioneering role in quantum communications: supported by the IdEx programme, the **Quantum@UniCA** project led to the deployment in 2021 of **France’s first operational quantum communication link**, connecting the Nice Valrose campus, the EcoVallée and SophiaTech. The project now aims to extend this link into space, with the Calern Plateau Observatory serving as the ground station, and already builds on quantum cryptography experiments conducted on the site.* *Since 2022, this momentum has been structured around **QuantAzur**, the **Azuréen Quantum Federative Institute**, which brings together the region’s quantum stakeholders and contributes to the development of a regional ecosystem **combining research, education, innovation and collaboration with the socio-economic sector**.*
