Company Profile: Since January 1, 2020, Université Côte d'Azur has been an experimental university, replacing both the Université Nice Sophia Antipolis, founded in 1965, and the Communauté d'Universités et d'Etablissements Université Côte d'Azur, created in 2015. Université Côte d'Azur now brings together 17 major academic players around its historic university core to build one of France's 10 leading research-intensive universities. In 2016, Université Côte d'Azur was awarded the prestigious Initiative d'Excellence (Idex) label. This distinction, granted by an international jury, ranks the university among the top 10 French research-intensive universities, provides it with additional resources to further accelerate its progress, and marks recognition of a university capable of positioning itself in the global competitive arena. Since January 1, 2020, Université Côte d'Azur has been officially recognized as an Experimental University. This new academic status supports the development of a bold and autonomous strategy based on: breaking down barriers between education, research, and innovation; developing agility and responsiveness through greater autonomy for its member institutions; and the ability to harness the remarkable potential of the diversity represented by its 17 members.
