Company Profile: QuantA – Quantum Initiative at Aix-Marseille – aims to incubate and promote inter- and trans-disciplinary research initiatives centred on quantum technologies that have a significant scientific impact and a broad unifying effect amongst the site’s laboratories. But it also seeks to foster early links between research, innovation and industry, by encouraging the emergence of start-ups and integrating with the existing economic fabric. To develop a suitable framework, QuantA is structured around four major unifying projects: Quantum Computing, Quantum Simulation, Quantum Sensors and Metrology, and New Synergies. The latter concern transdisciplinary fields of research, interconnected with quantum technologies, which are of significant social interest—such as the associated environmental and economic impacts—and their legal regulation.
